A new dataset called GlobalRx has been developed, compiling information on over 200,000 prescribed burns across 16 countries and 12 biomes. This dataset provides valuable insights into the climate impacts of prescribed burning and its role in fire management practices worldwide. By shedding light on the environmental effects of such burns, this dataset serves as a crucial tool for informing land management strategies, particularly in the context of climate change. This development is significant as it contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of prescribed burning and its implications for ecosystems and the climate. The dataset serves as an important resource for policymakers, land managers, and environmental researchers, facilitating more informed decisions related to fire management and climate adaptation.
